Photoshop Create Polaroid Effect

Hi everyone, welcome to today’s tutorial, where we will learn about how to create a polaroid effect.

1. open image to be used to create polaroid effect

2. press Ctrl + A, to select the entire image

3. press Shift + Ctrl + J, to cut selection from current image layer, create a new layer, and paste the copied image selection to the new layer

4. select Image > Canvas Size

5. enter 100 for wifth and height (assume use pixels as unit of measurement), and click OK

6. click layer styles button, and select stroke (assume the layer containing the image is currently selected)

7. click color box, and select light gray color, and click OK

8. increase size to 10

9. select position of Inside (this causes outline to be made ‘inside’ the image, instead of the default of outside the image, which would cause rounded corners)

10. click Drop Shadow

11. change angle to 85

12. increase size to 10

13. click OK

note: A simple polaroid effect is now achieved with the image. You can use the polaroid effect on multiple photos at once, and rotate and position these ‘polaroid’ images on a appropriately colored canvas (predominantly red canvas, with new blank layer to contain the small rectangular selection of green at the bottom), with some text in the green rectangular selection, to create a simple poster
