Add mailbox account for Outlook

Good day, everyone. Welcome to today’s tutorial on adding a mailbox account for Microsoft Outlook.

1. select Tools > E-mail Accounts …

2. select Add a new e-mail account radio button

3. select POP3 radio button

note: this tutorial is for the case of adding a new POP3 account, but other types of email accounts like exchange or imap can be configured similarly, by selecting the appropriate radio button, and setting the appropriate configuration settings

4. click next

5. enter your name, eg. Gabriel

6. enter your email address, eg. gbrlno@singnet.com.sg

7. enter your incoming mail server (pop3), eg. pop.singnet.net

8. enter your outgoing mail server (smtp), eg. smtp.singnet.net

9. enter your username, eg. gbrlno

10. enter your password

note:

  • please enter your OWN values for your OWN incoming (pop3) and outgoing (smtp) servers
  • if you DO NOT want program to remember your password, then ensure Remember password checkbox is unchecked

11. click More Settings

12. click Outgoing Server tab

13. check “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” checkbox

14. ensure “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” option is selected, and click OK

15. click next

16. click finish
