Restore MBR from file

Good day everyone. Previously, we learned how to save mbr (master boot record) as a file, so today, we’ll learn how to restore mbr from that file.

1. use ubcdforwin cd (ensure nu2menu is running, under programs\nu2menu)

note: this assumes you have booted the pc using the ubcdforwin bootable cd (ubcdforwin can be downloaded freely)

2. select start > programs > disk tools > partition > mbrwizard

3. press 9, and enter, to restore mbr from a saved file (you need to indicate the location of this file)

this assumes you have already saved a working mbr to file

if you have not already saved a working mbr to file, then you can still replace a corrupted mbr with a working windows mbr. if you wish to know more, you can drop me an email asking about this.
