Good day everyone, today, we will learn how to apply sepia tone effect to a photo. This effect is often used in posters or cd covers, to create a nostalgic or artistic effect.
1. select Image > Canvas Size, and enter width and height values, eg. 30 pixels for both, and ensure Relative checkbox is checked, and click OK, to increase canvas size, so as to create a border around the image
2. click add adjustment layer button, and select Gradient Map, use default gradient from black to white, and click OK, to change image to a grayscale image
3. click add adjustment layer button, and select Solid Color
4. click Color Libraries button, to open color libraries
5. select a suitable color for the sepia tone, eg. PANTONE 142 C, and click OK
6. select Color from the Layer Blend Mode of current adjustment layer
note: photo now has sepia tone effect applied to it, but you can add a square stroke around the image, and some text to create a cd cover, as shown in the first image of this tutorial
