Image before use use burn in effect

Hi everyone, today, we’ll be learning about the burn-in effect, which is often used in many different photo shoots, magazine covers, or ads, to help enhance or give ‘focus’ to an image.

1. click add new layer button, to add new layer

2. press D, to set default foreground color of black

3. press Alt + Backspace, to fill current layer with current foreground color, in this case, black

4. press M, to select rectangular marquee tool

5. click and drag a rectangular selection, leaving a small unselected ‘border’ around the image

6. select Select > Feather, and enter value for radius, eg. 30 pixels (use larger values for bigger images, to have a bigger ‘transition’ area, or use smaller values for smaller images, to have a smaller ‘transition’ area)

7. press Delete, to delete selection from current layer

note: increase canvas size, and add text, to create the final magazine cover, as shown at the start of this tutorial
