3D Studio Max Create Terrain


Create terrain with 3D studio max

1. Create plane

2. Change plane to have length of 400 and width of 400

Change plane settings

3. Change plane to have length segments of 40 and width segments of 40

Change plane position

3. Change position of plane to x=0, y=0, z=0

4. Change name of plane to ground01

5. Select Modify panel

6. select Displace modifier from modifier list

Click displace modifier map button

7. click Map button

Double click smoke map

8. double-click Smoke (so displace will be based on random pattern of black, white and grey, which will give random displacement of parts of the plane)

Change Displacement Strength

9. Set Strength of displacement to 50 (this sets the maximum displacement of parts of the plane)
