Photoshop Create a simple image
We will be create and save a simple image using photoshop.
First we will create a file to store the image in, so we select File > New
In this case, we will be creating a picture of a dog, so we enter “dog” for name field.
Next, we select preset size of 640×480, and leave img resolution at 72 pixels/inch, which is the optimal resolution for web graphics, and click OK.
We will be using the Pencil tool to draw the dog.
Note: if you do not see the Pencil tool, it may be ‘under’ the Brush tool, so click and hold the Brush tool, which will cause it to open out, revealing the other tools (which include Pencil tool) hidden under it, and then select Pencil tool, and release mouse button, to select the Pencil tool.
To change brush size to 5 pixels, click the brush size option, in the option bar (below the main menu), and double-click the brush size of 5 pixels.
Now, draw the dog.
After drawing the outline of the dog, you can fill in the color of the dog, by clicking on Paint Bucket tool.
I wish to fill the outline of the dog, with the color blue, so I click the foreground color to open color picker, where I can select a suitable blue color to fill the outline of the dog.

Click foreground color to open color picker

Select new foreground color from color picker
Click in the different parts of the dog, to fill up that part of the dog with the current foreground color.
After filling in the color for the dog, we can now save this image, by selecting File > Save As

Enter the name for the new file, or just use the name of the image, which is automatically filled in by photoshop.
In this case, we wish to save a new jpeg file, so ensure that you select the Format of JPEG, then click Save.
Note, since this is a jpeg file, you must also select the quality of the file.
In this case, I wish to save with high image quality, so I entered value of 8 for Quality, and clicked OK.
Your image is now saved. I hope this tutorial has been helpful for beginners to photoshop, thanks for watching, and see ya.
